All About new Automotive Smart Fob keys
The state of the automotive industry:
The industry is struggling to keep up with inventory, quality control issues, and keeping up with the latest software. Seems every few years automotive manufacturers come out with new keys with higher encryption. The latest theft I’m hearing about is folks boosting the proximity fob signal from your home to your car and simply driving off. The car industry made fob keys, in part, to prevent thieves from stealing cars by forcing over ignitions and now they use the customer’s key to take the car remotely. This reminds me of the old adage, build a bigger mousetrap and get a bigger rat.
How to prevent car theft.
To combat this Ford’s new key stops sending a signal if it’s not moving (once you set it down) and starts broadcasting again when you pick it up. If you have an older car and fob and you park your car outside you can combat this by using an RF signal blocking bag to put your keys in when not used.
What we can do to help.
I’m an automobile locksmith and a bit of a gear head so I always stay up on the latest tech trends. We can cut the new Honda steel keys, and program the 2024 Toyotas. I even bought a new portable key machine so I can help customers if my van is in the shop or if I just need a backup. I have Dealer keys, universal keys, look-alike keys, and refurbished keys of all types to help meet your needs and budget.
I am available for calls or texts if you have questions.
Please don’t ever feel bad for asking questions as it’s what I am here for. Let me know your concerns and what your priorities are. We have amazing customer service, reasonable and competitive prices, and after-hours service if needed.
